I haven't exercised for longer then I care to admit. Is this program right for me?
No matter your age, gender, physical capabilities, or fitness goals, a safe, effective, individually tailored program will be designed and scaled to meet your specific needs.
How do you determine my specific needs and goals?
To begin, I will meet with you for a comprehensive assessment of your physical health, physical capabilities, and exercise history. Then we’ll work together to clarify your fitness goals and the obstacles to achieving them. Based on the results of this assessment I will carefully design an exercise program specifically tailored to your individual needs.
Can you help me to get in better shape without getting injured?
My number one priority is keeping you safe and injury free. I will provide you with thorough and meticulous coaching to insure that you are able to consistently perform all prescribed exercises with proper technique. As you become more comfortable and proficient with the mechanics of the movements I will carefully and progressively increase the intensity of your workouts so you can continue to make progress towards your fitness goals.
I procrastinate and find excuses when it comes to starting or keeping with an exercise program. Can you help me with this?
Using my unique blend of professional skills as a personal trainer with an extensive background in counseling (about Jeff Fine), I have successfully worked
with many types of resistances to starting or keeping with an exercise program.
Let me help you turn excuses and procrastination into action and motivation, so you can enjoy the increased vitality and dynamic energy exercising brings you, and look forward to exercise as one of
the very best parts of your day.
Can you just design an exercise program for me and I'll do it on my own?
Absolutely, but to insure your safety and success in getting the results you want I'll need to meet with you for a comprehensive assessment of your health, physical capabilities, and familiarity
with the exercises prescribed.
Periodic follow-up is also recommended to monitor your progress, assess your health, review your fitness goals, and observe your exercise technique. I'll use this information to design new and
exciting exercise programs to keep you motivated, interested and fresh, and to accelerate your progress in accomplishing your fitness goals.
Is there a nutrition component to your fitness program?
Balanced nutrition is a critical component in creating exceptional physical and emotional health. With a master's degree in Nutrition, I am uniquely qualified to teach you exactly how to establish healthy eating habits that will fortify your body, sharpen your mind, increase your sense of wellbeing, and support your fitness goals.
How do you work with people who have struggled with dieting for years, and lost and gained weight many times?
Most people who strictly adhere to a diet, regardless of which one, will lose weight, but once off the diet gain all, if not more of it, back. This often causes depression, anxiety, low
self-esteem, and feelings of failure.
The fact is, diets simply don't work because they are based on deprivation and control, focus solely on food, counting calories, and the number on the scale. Most importantly, diets do not
address your emotional relationship with food - when, where, how and why you choose to eat.
I will help you to transform your emotional relationship to food through a non-diet approach to permanent weight loss. You will learn ways to manage difficult thoughts and feelings without turning to
food, how to eat to be healthy instead of eating to lose weight, and how to incorporate and maintain healthy lifestyle changes, so that you improve your self-esteem and body image, enjoy the success
of accomplishing your fitness goals, and not only make peace with food, but truly enjoy it.

I don't want individual counseling. Can I just work with you as a personal trainer?
Absolutely! Personal training is a highly effective stand alone path to creating exceptional physical and emotional health.
What if I don't have time for regular exercise?
You're in luck. Research shows that shorter, more intense workouts (more work in less time), individually tailored to your present level of fitness, optimizes physical conditioning. After a 10-15 minute warm-up, the majority of your prescribed workouts will take 30 minutes or less.
How does regular exercise help with nagging aches and pains?
Nagging aches and pains, for example in the neck, shoulder, back, hip and knee, are often the result of a lack of flexibility and muscular imbalances which prevent muscles and joints from
functioning properly.
A carefully designed exercise program, based on your specific needs, will restore healthy biomechanical functioning of your muscles and joints, and decrease, if not alleviate, your physical
discomfort, so that you experience increased energy and vitality, and enjoy improved confidence in your physical capabilities.
Can regular exercise help to bring my blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglycerides to healthier levels?
Lifestyle changes such as balanced nutrition and regular exercise are highly effective proven strategies to restore blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides to normal healthy
parameters.
The individually tailored exercise programs I prescribe can be particularly helpful in this regard. That is, constantly varied exercise programming using mostly functional movements that targets
broad based fitness parameters like strength, stamina, flexibility, and power.

I have extensive education, training and professional experience in counseling, personal training, and nutrition.
